About Shared journeys UK
My Background
I’ve worked across health and social care since 1999, with experience spanning adult mental health, youth justice as a restorative justice practitioner, training, project development, commissioning, and service improvement. I hold a BA (Hons) in Social Policy, which has strongly influenced my understanding of how relationships, environments, systems, and inequality shape emotional wellbeing and people’s experiences.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked alongside children, young people, families, professionals, and organisations across a wide range of services and settings. My experience includes developing and managing projects from the ground up, designing and delivering training and wellbeing initiatives, supporting service development, contributing to evaluation and improvement work, and working within co-production and participation approaches. I have also held trustee roles linked to wellbeing and community support.
These experiences have shown me the importance of approaches that are relational, practical, and sustainable — not just in theory, but in the realities of everyday practice. I’ve seen the difference that emotionally informed environments, restorative approaches, reflective practice, and strong relationships can make for both the people receiving support and the professionals providing it.
My work combines strategic and frontline experience with a practical and human-centred approach to supporting organisations, teams, and projects to strengthen wellbeing, communication, connection, and emotionally informed ways of working.
What Drives My Work
I believe people and organisations thrive when they feel valued, connected, and understood. Relationships, trust, and compassion are central to meaningful and sustainable change, particularly within services and systems supporting emotional wellbeing.
My work is rooted in restorative and trauma-informed approaches, with a focus on creating environments where people feel psychologically safe, supported, and able to grow. I’m passionate about practical approaches that strengthen communication, reflection, connection, and everyday wellbeing within teams and organisations.
I believe meaningful change happens through collaboration, curiosity, and listening — creating spaces where people feel heard, respected, and involved in shaping the support around them.

Reflection & Creativity
I love a good sunset and a long walk along the beach. These moments have helped me find calm alongside the demands of working in health and social care and inspired the creation of Shared Journeys UK. Maggie usually tags along — a reminder of the importance of connection, trust, and curiosity.
These walks give me space to think, reflect, and bring creativity into my work and everyday practice.
All of the images used throughout this website were taken during my own walks, capturing the calm and reflective spaces that continue to inspire me.
